How to redefine time to unlock creative flow
When was time invented? Trick question? Perhaps, but as we currently think it, time hasn't been around for long. While modern instruments have become increasingly precise, ancient people looked towards the heavens to measure and record vast millennia.
The way we measure modern time is governed by atomic vibrations, broken into days, hours, minutes, and seconds, beamed in synchrony around the world. As I write this from Japan, various clocks around my home in California glow with identical trailing digits.
From an early age we are taught to tell time. In other words, read the clock so it can tell us what time it is.
As you read, I want to invite you to look somewhere else when you think about time: within.
Upcoming sections will cover some principles and practices to expand on this and help you make practical changes to your daily routine.
