Love this timer! It's so simple and pretty.I did have an issue with the battery once and reached out to customer service, which was (to my surprise) amazing and incredibly responsive. I did their troubleshooting fix (letting the timer completely die for 5-7 days) and it's working great again. Customer service even followed up with me to check if it their fix had worked. Above and beyond - 5 stars
It's so easy to use, this is my second of these timers. This one I bought just for mediation, as I work my way up to longer sessions. It remembers my last time and begins with a zen-like chime.
Really good. Neice texture and really useful for staying on task
Update: I contacted Dave regarding the issues and he sent me a very thorough email with multiple solutions. When those didn't work, he sent me a replacement. We are back in business and my clients are so happy. I highly recommend this product and their amazing customer service. Buy small business!!
I had this timer for about a month when it stopped working. It won't turn on now, and I can't get it to charge. I have tried everything. I can't even return it, since it is outside the return window. I absolutely loved it...while it worked.
I feel like this product was made in my dreams, and I couldn't believe when I came upon it in reality at Amazon. It does and it does it well. I use it in the classroom where the students are delighted by its novelty and can set it easily. For classroom use, the chime is a little soft when multiple people are talking in a large room, but it's plenty loud when one person is talking at the front of the classroom.
I was looking for a timer for both work and meditation. I especially wanted something with a gentle chime instead of harsh beeping. I came across this product because it is by the same person as the slim fold wallet. I watched the video online and purchased the version 2 on Amazon. The chime sound is perfect. Noticeable yet relaxing. You can set the volume but not much else.It is very convenient to be able to flip it over for another interval. The feel of setting it by rotating and flipping to start is a nice physical ritual. You can pause the timer by flipping it on its side. The animations and colors are very comforting and helpful (e.g. the countdown is smooth, and when active the rings gently pulse).I knocked off one star because I feel like for this price there should be more. Maybe let us customize the sounds or the animations or change the colors or adjust the brightness, perhaps through an app? Also, a little more heft would make it feel a little less like a toy and more like a real hour glass. One thing people should know is that this can't be set to just any arbitrary time between 1 and 100 minutes. You can set 1 to 20 in one-minute increments, then it goes to five-minute increments 25 up to 60 minutes, then changes to 10-minute increments from 60 up to 100. So if you want to set it to something like 37 minutes or 65 minutes you should look for something with fine-grained settings.
I love this item. It works so well for my ADHD brain. But the colors need to be a bit more distinguishable...
Very unique design on this timer. It is elegant and easy to use, not to mention very calming. I like the very calm alarm, which is quite the opposite of most alarms which are stressful.
I was excited to get this product due its ability to time visually to the minute. I work with kids who can perseverate on timers that say exactly how much time is left on a numbered timer so I thought this would be great. First, it was NOT as easy to set as expected. It’s very small and setting it visually, trying to count tiny rings while spinning it, is not easy. It would be nice if it had a “memory” button or capacity to type in an amount of time. Second, my unit worked twice and then died five minutes later. I reached out to support and was told I should “wait 3-6 days for the battery to completely die” before getting a replacement. I replied that this seemed ludicrous after paying this much for a product and already waiting to receive it, and then it malfunctioning immediately. I am still waiting for a return label and replacement. Overall, this product had not lived up to expectations.
I ordered the Focus Timer for my teenage daughter who has ADHD. It's been a big help for her. The hourglass design is calming to watch, and it helps to keep her focused without making her feel stressed. She likes that it has a gentle chime when time's up, which doesn't startle her. The chime has 3 different volume settings, or it can be muted. The timer is adjustable from 1 to 100 minutes, and she uses it for homework and short breaks. It's helped her manage her time a little better and stay on task. I really like that this charges with a standard USB-A type cable instead of an odd proprietary cable. One is included in the box, but it was misplaced within a few days. (Hello, ADHD!) Our phones use the same type of charging cable, so it can still be easily charged.
I bought this timer to help me remember to stand up and take walk breaks from the keyboard during the work day. It's easy to use. Everything about it is fairly intuitive, and the chime is not loud, distracting or insistent. It seems to be accurate. As a retired teacher, I would recommend this for a classroom small group/ independent station. This would also be fun for your child as a homework or chore reminder, because of its ease of use and because it uses different colors to count down your remaining time in conventional increments without making a lot of noise.
It's so tiny. Retuned. For that price I think it could have been larger
I use it for meditation. I use it as a nightlight. I wish there was a dimmer for the light.
I have combination type ADHD and find prioritizing and focusing on tasks SUPER hard. I've been using this timer for a couple of weeks now, and as silly as it may seem, it actually helps. Knowing I have a set amount of time that I don't have to keep track of myself for a project (like picking up the living room random stuff, or organizing paperwork) has made moving through stuff actually possible for me. I do things more efficiently this way, and "lose" less time. Very happy I gave this a try!
This thing is a fun, clever, and innovative little device that basically gamifies your daily routines. The ability to adjust the time by simply twisting is cool and convenient, and the colored-ring time system makes it easy to check progress at a glance. There are also plenty of intuitive little tricks, like pausing the timer by tipping it on its side, or restarting it by flipping it after completion. And, somehow, seeing those glowing green lights and hearing that chime makes ending the countdown just a bit more gratifying.
As for the physical device itself: it's very well made and designed. The surfaces are smooth, nicely finished, and virtually seamless. The lights display cleanly and brightly. I haven't exactly put it through any extreme testing or anything, but it definitely strikes me as being more durable than it needs to be. Everything works as advertised without flaw, delay, or malfunction. I suppose the chime could be a bit louder, but that is a fairly minor quibble as I mostly tend to use this device in quite quiet environments.
The Focus Timer is fun, simple to use, and really can help you focus on staying on task. My adult daughter has been holding on to mine since I convinced her to try it out for a day, and she has made it clear she has no intention of returning it anytime soon. If this kind of device sounds like it might be even remotely useful to you, I would highly recommend getting one in hand and trying it out!
A game-changer for time management, especially for ADHD support. Silent countdown, soothing chime, and versatile Pomodoro settings make it ideal for all ages.
First off, let me say at the MSRP I think this timer is a tough sell but before I wrote this review I double checked the price and it's currently 50% off the MSRP which I think it is worth when you consider any other "high end" timer would be in the same price range.
I have a lot of timers because my brain has a hard time with the concept of time so I'm not using this for time blocking like it was designed for. I use it more as a general purpose timer for everything, mostly to help prevent me from spending an hour doing something that should take 20 minutes.
The one thing I would really like to see implemented is a different color system for different times. Such as if you were setting 10 minutes +5 then just as an example maybe the main 10 minute ring is yellow but if you were doing 20 minutes + 5 then the two 10 minute rings would be orange or some other color and so on. Maybe the +5 mins part of that example could also change slightly just so at a glance my brain could immediately process what time I'm seeing.
Overall it is a very well built and well though out timer that can blend into just about anywhere or slip into your pocket.
this thing is not very intuitive and i had to look up instructions on how to use it. i still dont completely understand it. im never really sure how much time i am setting on this thing. its a cool concept but i wish it was easier to use or had an app
From the moment I opened the package this device impressed me and continues to do so a month down the road. Firstly its just elegant in how it works and its overall form. No clunky buttons or switches, rotating the device to change time is amazing. The timer feature works great, and communicates well with the user. You can easily tell how much time is left. When it goes off the sound is fairly gentle, which is great for anything relaxation related. It holds a charge for longer than I would expect and charging is quick. For a simple device that does one thing very well, this is probably one of the better designed objects in my home. It is so good I want to explore what else this company makes!
I almost never leave a review but this time I felt the need to do so. I think this product is perfect in every way. I love the way of setting it, I love the chime, and I love pausing it by laying it on its side if I'm in the middle of a task and I want to go off script for a minute or I have to visit the bathroom and read a book for a while. It's just 1,000,000 times better and more convenient than using an app on a phone. In my opinion, it is worth every penny and it's probably the best purchase I've made in the last decade. Here's a bit of wisdom. Instead of setting a big goal like, "I will make my whole house tidy and neat, the way I want it to be, and then I will keep it that way," do this instead: Just get into the habit of working on tidying it up for half an hour at a time, six times a week...Use the timer, and put yourself on task when it's counting down. If you follow that method, you'll end up cleaning your house for 3 hours a week and in 2 or 3 months your entire house will be neat and tidy and you will have formed a reasonable habit that ensures it will stay that way.Always remember (I write this for my own edification as much as for yours, dear reader) that success is achieved in life never by merely having goals, but only by establishing good habits that predictably contribute toward achieving one's goals.
This is a great idea, has USB-C charging, and is aesthetically pleasing. However, the price point is well above what I would expect to have to pay for this. To turn on, press the button on the end, set it down and rotate clockwise to add time, counter clockwise to remove time. The blue color is 1 minute, yellow 10. If I recall correctly, once you get to 20 minutes, you'll have to use 5 minute increments.
This visual timer has been a fantastic tool for helping my kids stay focused and manage their time, even though they don't have ADHD. The adjustable hourglass design works perfectly for various activities, whether it's keeping my 2yo engaged during playtime, helping my 4yo stay on task with simple chores, or ensuring my 7yo manages their homework sessions effectively.
The silent countdown is a blessing in a busy household, as it doesn't distract or disrupt other activities. The soothing chime at the end is gentle yet effective in signaling that time is up, making transitions smoother for everyone. It's also fun for the kids to see the time visually, which helps them understand and respect boundaries without constant reminders.
This timer is not just practical but versatile, working for kids of different ages and needs. It's been a lifesaver for creating structure and encouraging focus, making it a valuable addition to our daily routines.
This is very small but bright, the chime is pleasing and not too loud, easy to use and comes with directions.
I'm not sure on the cost for this versus other options online, but I do like this instead of the clock we were using. Cute, battery lasts, and I have been using it consistently to help the kids know when to take breaks during class.
I totally love this. Quality is amazing and I'm actually really impressed by how nice this is. Comes packaged well. Really great item. Very good value for the price. A+
I bought the first version of this for a classroom a year or so before purchasing this one because most timers that show time counting down are really stressful for anxious students. However, this one has a light that is soft, and the chime when it finishes is the least stressful ever. Yet it is loud enough to be heard over a class of conversing kids. I bought this one to have a 2nd timer for home, but ended up taking it to school because the slight improvements on the original make it perfect. It holds nicely in any size hand, and the surface is a little soft but not at all slippery. You rotate it to increase or decrease time increments, and it's very intuitive. If you work in an environment where calm is valued.
