Battery FAQs
Battery Composition
Focus Timer contains a 550mAh Lithium Polymer battery. This is the highest quality and largest size possible for this device in order to give you the best experience.
Unlike previous generations of batteries, these have no memory. So you don't need to worry about recharging it when it's half way depleted.
Lithium Polymer is also slightly safer than Lithium Ion, which are the kinds that are more likely to swell up.
Changing the Battery
The timer should last for many years and, if anything, may start to require charging a bit more often after several years. If at some point you want to change the battery, please contact us and we can try to arrange for you to send it back. We don't have an official battery replacement program but we will essentially charge you what it costs us for the battery and for the shipping back to you. And the labor to make the swap is free.
End of Life
If you would like to dispose of your timer, we'd ask you to reach out to us first, as we'd prefer to have you send it back to us for potential upcyccling. Please contact us and we'll arrange for you to ship it back to us.
Disposal
This device has an internal Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery so please inform any disposal facility that it has the battery in it for proper disposal.
But please throw it away as a last resort. A lot of care went into making this device and not all that many have ever been made, so it's best to keep it running for as long as possible.
